Ya boi got too excited for the white stuff.
Zero damage, just feel deserving of public shaming but don’t want to tell anyone IRL.

Not a good day for oppoo and curbs.

If you didn’t bend any wheels or pop any airbags that’s a win.

Missed it by that much....

Wheels seem fine, drove around for a while after with no problems. Time will tell though.

I’m just happy I missed the sign by that much.

Hopefully this little off saved you from a more serious one now that you remember how quickly things go south, you know? I had a similar situation last night, very stupid...

Fun fact: there was an HHR on the curb with broken suspension literally just around the corner. I should have taken of a photo.
Looks like they understeered and hit the curb with the side of their wheel.

back in the day I was enjoying the snow. suddenly i was ass backwards and 6" from a concrete street light post. If i had any more speed I would have had a very bad night. at least you can now say you now the point of no return and hopefully can see it coming next time.

So how long until you SC400 the Miata?

Anybody who says they haven’t had a similar off in snow/ice is either lying or too clueless to even realize they did it. Glad you came out OK on this one.

A bit of oversteer. It was icier that I thought and the whole car was sliding out. Saw the impending doom coming, had time to talk to myself. “Am I going to fucking crash my new car” and then turned to face the curb straight on.
Too much speed, should have been more cautious.

A nice friendly wake up call every once in a while is needed apparently. The friendly part with no damage is when its really nice.

I’ll be one of those things barely running now.

Ideally never. Statistically? Probably once.

My body can repair it self, I’m glad the car came out okay on this one.

o/
I used to cut across the grass and slalom between the markers of the offramp near my house when I was young and had a truck.
Other than those excursions I’ve been off the road in the snow by mistake.

I got tired of Atlas-on-Atlas political shitpostery.

CODE ROOD!!!!!
I’m glad I’m not there at the moment, and that I am in a country that does know how to handle snow: Canada. I hope it clears a bit before I fly back next week.

I spun the Galant and hopped a curb about this time last year. there was a burm on the other side and it stuffed in the corner on my front bumper. It took about 30 seconds with a heat gun and a crow bar to unstuff it. But it took half an hour of fighting with it to go “hey wait we have a heat gun let’s try that.

should be mostly gone a day or two from now... tho staying cold enough for the occasional flurry
still... its nice to have a good layer of snow again :)

Some times the best thing to do in those situations is just try to hit the crib straight on like you did. At least then you have a better chance of rolling into the curb rather smashing into it and saying good by to a wheels or two and various suspension components.
Hey at least your car isn’t slammed so much that it couldn’t climb a small curb,

This is why people need to learn how to e brake slide. Understeer is a scary thing.

Yea I’ve rekt enough wheels to know how to hit a curb. Not going to say I’m the best driver because lol duh, but minimizing damage is a skill.

i had a circular saw ran across my foot recently. it cut my shoe and sock and left a scuff mark on my toenail. you can be damn sure i’m significantly more careful now.
